McNeilus Steel, Inc. is currently accepting applications for a new team member to join our Accounts Receivable department as a Regional Credit Manager. This position works Monday-Friday; hours TBD.
Nature Of Work
A Regional Credit Manager is responsible for reviewing and obtaining necessary information for determining credit ratings of customers applying for credit terms. A Regional Credit Manager is responsible for all accounts receivable customer service duties.
Working Conditions
A Regional Credit Manager has his/her own workspace located within the front office adjacent to the Corporate Credit Manager’s office that provides convenience for interaction and communication with other managerial personnel. A majority of the day would be spent on the telephone, faxing or emailing, or on the internet to obtain necessary information to process credit applications, and to answer questions and provide customer service for customers’ requests.
Regional Credit Managers work a standard 40-hour week, but may work extended hours during the end of the month to review and prepare customer invoices and answer any customer inquiries. Occasional overnight travel to visit customers is expected.
Duties/ Responsibilities
- Process and authorize applications for credit
- Investigate credit history and current credit standing of clients
- Evaluate computerized credit records and payment histories when an account is past due, overextended, inactive, or shows a change of address
- Contact customers to negotiate payment on delinquent accounts
- Process inventory adjustments
- Responsible for making collection calls and providing accounts receivable customer service
- Post payments to customer accounts
- Provide assistance to customer inquiries regarding credit application process, credit balances, or payment history
- Maintain accurate accounts by posting checks, correcting billing discrepancies, and issuing additional credit memos
- Processes, posts and reconciles credit card payments as requested by customers
- Assist with petty cash management
- Assist/notify local law authorities in the event of Non-Sufficient Fund checks and lawsuits

Qualifications
- High School Diploma required

2nd Shift Custodian | Dodge Center, MN
McNeilus Steel, Inc. is currently accepting applications for a new team member to join our company in our Custodial department. Evening schedule is Sunday-Thursday 3pm-11:30pm, with OT as needed, with the shift concluding when all work is completed.
A Custodian is in charge of keeping office buildings, production areas, storage locations, and staging areas clean and in good condition. Cleaning duties vary from cleaning floors and rugs, washing walls and windows, emptying trash receptacles, replenish bathroom supplies, and make minor repairs.
Custodians use a variety of cleaning materials, tools, and equipment to complete their job. Custodians must learn the proper use of such equipment and cleaners to avoid harming floors, walls, inventory material, but most of all, themselves.
Custodial staff works to clean while some of the areas are empty or while production processes are taking place. Custodians work mostly inside but can be exposed to outside weather conditions if assigned duties that are to be completed outside or while working in a warehouse location where exterior doors are open to allow for freight vehicles to enter or exit the facility. Some areas may become noisy if work is to be done next to production areas.
Duties/ Responsibilities
- Daily cleanup of banding, block, and scrap material in warehouse locations
- Keep building entrances organized and free of debris
- Sweep, scrub, and vacuum offices, hallways, restrooms, break rooms, and warehouse floors on a regularly scheduled basis
- Bag and ship dirty/used gloves and disburse new gloves if needed
- Collect and empty trash receptacles
- Replenish cleaning and restroom supplies in areas where needed

2nd Shift Welder | Dodge Center, MN
McNeilus Steel, Inc. is currently accepting applications for a new team member to join our company in our Welding department. Evening schedule is Monday-Thursday 4pm-2:30am, with OT as needed, with the shift concluding when all work is completed.
A Welder is responsible for safe operation of welding equipment. The welder will adjust, set and measure for proper length or dimensions of desired product.
The welder may be required to lift and carry objects weighing 75-100 pounds, and occasionally stoop, kneel, or crouch in awkward positions. The welder is required, but is not limited, to wear leather gloves, sleeves, and a welding helmet during welding operations. Standing or walking comprises 90-95% of a normal work day. The welder generally works eight-hour shifts, though longer shifts may be common
Duties/ Responsibilities
- Lays out, positions, and secures parts and assemblies according to specifications, using straightedge, combination square, calipers, and ruler
- Tack-welds or welds components and assemblies, using electric, gas, arc, or other welding equipment
- Cuts workpiece, using powered saws, hand shears, chipping knife, hand plasma, or oxyfuel
- Melts lead bar, wire, or scrap to add lead to joint or to extrude melted scrap into reusable form
- Observes tests on welded surfaces for dimension tolerance to evaluate weld quality and conformance to specifications
- Inspects grooves, angles, or gap allowances, using micrometer, caliper, and precision measuring instruments
- Removes rough spots from workpiece using portable grinder, hand file, or scraper
- Welds components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions
- Heats, forms, and dresses metal parts, using hand tools, torch, or arc welding equipment
- Ignites torch and adjusts valves, amperage, or voltage to obtain desired flame or arc

1st Shift – Driver | Dodge Center, MN

Nature Of Work
A Driver is responsible for delivering customer-ordered material from our warehouse location to the appropriate destination. A Driver may be responsible for collecting material from designated vendors and suppliers and returning material to our warehouse.
Working Conditions
Drivers are provided with trucks that are moderately comfortable and well-ventilated. Drivers often work 50 or more hours a week starting in the early morning hours. Drivers deliver material to customers with indoor or outdoor receiving areas and can be exposed to forecasted weather conditions. Drivers are subject to a random alcohol and drug test while on duty to abide by federal regulations. Drivers’ routes bring them home at the conclusion of each shift.

- Perform routine inspections on oil level, brakes, and lights before departure
- Perform routine inspections on cargo for proper securing procedures

A Painter is responsible for the safe operation of all painting equipment. A Painter will apply coats of paint, enamel, or lacquer to protect interior or exterior surfaces of fabricated metal parts. A Painter may be required to lift and carry objects weighing 25-75 pounds. Standing or walking comprises 90-95% of the workday while frequently stooping, kneeling, crawling or crouching in awkward positions to reach all angles of objects being painted. A Painter will spend time in and out of a well-ventilated paint booth with all proper PPE provided. Shifts will generally be eight (day shift) or ten (night shift) hours, though longer shifts may be common.
Duties/ Responsibilities
- Reads work order or receive instructions from Supervisor regarding painting
- Prepares surfaces for painting by smoothing the metal
- Washes surfaces prior to painting with various cleaning agents
- Selects premixed paints, or mixes required portions of pigment, oil, and thinning and drying substances to prepare paint that matches specified colors
- Covers surfaces that are to remain unpainted with masking tape and paper to protect during painting
- Paints surfaces with electrostatic spray gun
- Applies paint with cloth, brush, sponge, or fingers to cover difficult to reach places

1st Shift Electrician | Dodge Center, MN
McNeilus Steel, Inc. is accepting applications for a new team member to join our team as an Electrician. Electricians are scheduled on a 40-hour week but generally work up to 50 or more hours a week to get several projects completed on time. 1st Shift times are flexible with start times between 6am and 8am; working 8-hour shifts.
Nature of Work
Electricians install, connect, test, and maintain a variety of electrical systems throughout company buildings for purposes of climate control, communications, machine operation, lighting, and numerous business equipment. Electricians work with blueprints of the warehouse layout to determine proper locations for installing or repairing electrical systems. Electricians are responsible for ensuring that their work follows the National Electric code and complies with all state building codes and regulations.
Electricians may perform work on top of ladders, scaffolds or hoists. Electricians work a standard 40-hour week and may frequently work overtime if required. Occasional evening and weekend shifts are common during expansion activities or during downtime of vital machine operations. Electricians may perform non-electrical duties on campus as needed.

1st Shift Press Brake Operator | Fargo, ND
McNeilus Steel, Inc. is accepting applications for a new team member to join our company as a Brake Press Operator. The schedule is Monday-Friday 6:00 am-2:30 pm, with OT as needed.
Duties/ Responsibilities
- When forming steel, calculate the correct measurements for the pieces to in turn fabricate the parts to the correct dimensions
- Monitors and makes adjustments accordingly to ensure the proper outcome of the product
- Inspect edge cut quality, material, and critical dimensions to ensure print tolerances and the correct customer specifications have been met
- Prepares material for shipping by tagging, banding, and stacking outgoing shipments
- Performs general maintenance
- Loads prepared material for shipment on company trucks and common carriers
- Must operate crane and forklift skillfully and safely
- Performs other duties as instructed and assigned
- Learn, understand, and comply with OSHA requirements, company safety rules, and health policies at all times, working according to good safety practices as posted, instructed, and discussed
- Use all safety devices, equipment, and PPE as directed and provided for protection
Qualifications
- Be able to read and understand the material specifications on order tickets
- Knowledge of steel products is preferred
- Ability to troubleshoot, work well independently, and as a team
- Be able to read and decipher measurements using tape measure
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate in fluent English

McNeilus Steel, Inc. is currently accepting applications for a new team member to join our company as Material Handler. Day schedule is Monday-Friday 6am-2:30pm, with OT as needed. Night shift runs Sunday-Thursday, 4pm start time on Sunday, 6pm start time Monday-Thursday, with the shift concluding when all work is completed.
The majority of the responsibilities include moving freight, stock, and other materials to and from storage and production areas, staging areas, and delivery vehicles. Will operate forklift, as well as overhead cranes as needed.

- Bands and tags material with the appropriate identification information
- Receives printed customer orders and pulls inventory to prepare orders for accurate shipment
- Must operate overhead crane and forklift skillfully and safely
- Package material for delivery
- Loads and secures material onto out-going carriers with proper weight distribution and proper delivery order
- Assists with unloading/loading of material for company and non-company carriers
- May drive semi and straight truck vehicles into specific loading areas to load customer-ordered material
- Counts, weighs, and records number of units of material to compare numbers with shipping invoice
- Performs other duties as instructed and assigned

1st Shift – Driver | Fond du Lac, WI
McNeilus Steel, Inc. is currently accepting applications for a new team member to join our Delivery department as a Route Driver. This position works Monday-Friday; hours vary.
Nature Of Work
A Driver is responsible for delivering customer-ordered material from our warehouse location to the appropriate destination. A Driver may be responsible for collecting material from designated vendors and suppliers and returning material to our warehouse.
Working Conditions
Drivers are provided with trucks that are moderately comfortable and well-ventilated. Drivers often work 50 or more hours a week starting in the early morning hours. Drivers deliver material to customers with indoor or outdoor receiving areas and can be exposed to forecasted weather conditions. Drivers are subject to a random alcohol and drug test while on duty to abide by federal regulations. Drivers’ routes bring them home at the conclusion of each shift.
Duties/ Responsibilities
- Deliver customer-ordered material to a designated location(s)
- Perform routine inspections on oil level, brakes, and lights before departure
- Perform routine inspections on cargo for proper securing procedures
- Assists with unloading/loading of material at delivery locations
- Collects customer payments or leaves invoices for customer review
- Accurately and precisely record information in Driver’s Log to comply with DOT regulations
- Maintain positive and ongoing customer relations through proper attitude, behavior, and appearance
- Become acquainted with inventory and retail products
